Community closed. [04 May 2008|05:27pm]

Hi everyone,

Thanks for being a part of the community. Unfortunately over the years I have had more and more external commitments, and thus less time for LJ and communities. In view of this, I will be closing this community. Again, thank you for all your contribution.

Hello, first time poster...... [01 Jun 2007|02:36pm]

[ mood | contemplative ]

So just trying to reenergise this community.

How many people live in Perth?

Anyone know of anywhere great to get non-EMO esque inspired clothing?

So tired of living in a town where ploka dots seem to be the only 'fashionable' thing to wear.

My style is trying to be a cross between Dita Von Teese and Bettie Page (look at my icon for Bettie).

My final questions are these:

What region in Australia do you live?

What's the most popular fashion piece in your area? (what do you see constantly around)

What's your favourite style/fashion icon?

Hi everyone, hope you had a great Christmas without too many cares.

Sadly, sometimes Christmas is far from care-free, with the costs and stresses of getting supplies getting some people down that they can almost forget it is a time to celebrate. I'm happy to tell you that there IS a solution.

From the bottom of my heart, I can recommend the Chrisco Christmas hamper club...

With a little bit of planning, you can spend the year paying off supplies little by little. You will hardly notice that the money has gone each week, but come Christmas time, it will all add up to a wonderful hamper of Christmas goods being delievered to your house. The sooner you order and start paying, the smaller your weekly/fortnightly/mothly (whatever suits you best) payments will be.

The full range of hamper choices can be viewed online, or you can request a catalogue by calling 1800 28 28 28.

It may sound like a well-worn advertising slogan, but never a truer word was spoken when they say you can save for a magical Christmas with Chrisco.

I am not a troll, nor do I make any profit from posting this. I simply believe in this program, and am sure you will too if you give it a go.

[ mood | frustrated ]

Hi everyone...

I registered at the forums over a week ago, however only today did I successfuly post my own new thread in 'shopping' where it actually showed up!

Every single reply I have submitted to any thread on that board has never shown up. It says 'post successful!', but when I'm taken back to the board, my reply never shows up...

Can anyone PLEASE explain to me why this is happening? Who can I contact (through email) to get the issue sorted out?

Please help!

Who are you on vogue? [19 Mar 2006|03:14pm]
[ mood | curious ]

I'm just writing this to get an update of who is who on vogue forum. Yes, there is a list but it only includes a minority of the members in this community. It would be greatly appreciated if you could all reply here with your vogue username.

hey need help for an assignment! [06 Mar 2006|09:22pm]

hey fashionable people.
i just need some help for an assignment, related with media&&fashion.

the topic im investigating is:
“Are people influenced to look like and buy what celebrities and famous people in the media are wearing an appearing?”

if anyone has any articles, like on the net, or on their computer,
remotely related to that topic
of celebrities and what they wear or being trend setters perhaps,
or like, shops selling things based on celebrities doings
or anything like that.

then please share!

Reese vs Kirsten [20 Jan 2006|06:57am]

[ mood | amused ]

I dont' think when Reese Witherspoon was told she was getting a "vintage Chanel" she thought she'd get the same frock Kirsten Dunst wore to the GG's 2 years prior!

I like Reese in it sooooo much better. Your thoughts?

x-posted to my personal LJ :)

Research - women aged 18-23 [23 Sep 2005|01:08pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

Fellow Voguette penelly from NSW is conducting a research as part of her PhD in Sociology, and has recently contacted me for help from members of vogue_australia. This is her message:

I am currently completing a study at the University of Newcastle, NSW,
and I'm looking for young Australian women to take part in interviews.

Let me tell you a little about the project and what it would involve.

The study is investigating what young women think about work,
relationships, children, and women's role in society. We want to find
out about the decisions young women make and expect to make with regard
to career, motherhood and how they believe they will combine work and
family responsibilities. This project will also be examining how popular
culture shapes women’s perceptions, values and expectations.

In the light of growing government concern about the decline in
Australia’s birth rate and the considerable media attention that has
been paid to the issue of fertility, studies like this one are needed to
understand young women’s intentions and expectations. The project has
implications for future social policy provisions such as childcare and
maternity leave.

At the moment, I am particularly looking for young women who would be
willing to take part in a telephone interview where they would be asked
to talk about their thoughts, experiences and aspirations. The interview
is an informal discussion which lasts about 45 minutes to one hour, and
covers topics such as work, education, motherhood and favourite
television shows and films.

For more information, please visit http://members.optusnet.com.au/~pen_robinson/recruitment.htm

Thank you.
